Hong Kong Awards for Industries
The HKAI comprises of five categories, and each run by an organiser. CMA is responsible for organising the “Equipment and Machinery Design Competition”, which aims to encourage the upgrading the design of equipment and machinery in Hong Kong so as to enhance competitiveness, and to give recognition to the outstanding products.
The HKSAR Government takes the lead to coordinate the Competition and it is free of charge to join the Competition. Winners may be permitted to use the logo of Hong Kong Awards and will have chances to promote the winning products.
The awards ceremony for “2017 Hong Kong Awards for industries: Equipment and Machinery Design” was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 18 December 2017. A total of 42 entries were received, and 1 Grand Award, 5 Awards and 10 Certificates of Merit were presented.
The “Equipment and Machinery Design Grand Award” went to the “DMBR (Membrane BioReactor)” devised by Dunwell Engineering Company Limited. The system recycles household wastewater until it is suitable for flushing toilets or for irrigation. It effectively controls the biodegrading of organic waste by micro-organisms and steadily filters grey water which meets the requirements through membrane units. The design has been highly commended as being useful for the development of green industries.
