Summary :
The above event is organized by Hong Kong Productivity Council, supported by CMA. Uzbekistan, located in Central Asia, has an advantageous geographical proximity to major textile and garment manufacturing markets - Europe and China. Benefitting from the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), it only takes around 7-10 days for goods to reach to the European markets by road transport - truck or rail, which is much faster than most of other Asian countries. This hence posts attractive opportunity for foreign investors. As the world's fifth leading cotton exporter and sixth leading cotton producer, the Uzbekistani Government plans to halt the export of cotton fiber by 2025, ensuring its full internal processing opening up big opportunities for spinning and textile mills. Paying a visit to Uzbekistan will allow you to understand more about the country's government policies, infrastructure, highly educated yet wage efficient workforce, and many other advantages such as benefitting also from the EU's Generalised scheme of preferences (GSP). If you are interested to understand the latest manufacturing and investment environment in Uzbekistan, this is a study mission you should not miss.
