2022 Hong Kong Brands and Products Shopping Festival Returns
Following its well-received debut last year, the 2022 Hong Kong Brands and Products Shopping Festival (“Festival”), which is organised by the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong (CMA), will be back for its second year from 9 to 12 September 2022 at the AsiaWorld-Expo.
With its goals of exploring business opportunities for local SMEs and providing fun-filled entertainment for the community amid the COVID-19 pandemic, last year’s inaugural Festival was a huge success.
“Different from our annual signature Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo held in Victoria Park, this Festival is an excellent platform for exhibitors to reach new customers, particularly those living in the New Territories,” said Dr Allen Shi, President of CMA, at today’s press conference. “Having learned from last year’s experience and the feedback received from our exhibitors and attendees, we are confident that this year’s Festival will be even better in terms of scale, range of products and entertainment activities, discount offers and prizes. With COVID-19 basically under control in the city and the growing momentum of economic recovery and consumer spending fuelled by the festive mood of the Mid-Autumn Festival, this year’s event is expected to draw more visitors and generate satisfactory revenue for SMEs.”
The Festival will be divided into six themed product zones with around 350 booths showcasing a wide variety of products, including food and beverages, dried seafood and tonic foods, household and electronic goods, kitchenware and healthcare products.
A highlight of this year’s event will be two dedicated areas that celebrate the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland and the 88th anniversary of CMA. These areas will comprise exhibitions featuring precious historical pictures of the city and CMA, displays of classic industrial products, booth games, traditional handicraft booths and photo-taking zone.
Visitors can also enjoy special activities, such as song and dance performances, parent-child workshops and lucky draws with prizes totalling over HK$1.3 million.
“The event will be a fun day out for the whole family during the Mid-Autumn Festival,” said Dr Wingco Lo, Executive Vice President of CMA. “We are grateful for the continued support of various government departments, supporting organisations and all our event partners; the media; exhibitors; and members of the public. The event would not have been possible without their assistance and support.”
