The 11th Hong Kong Food Carnival Kicks Off Next Week

Organised by the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong (the CMA), the 11th Hong Kong Food Carnival (the Carnival) will be staged at the Kwai Chung Sports Ground from 26 October to 3 November. Featuring over 300 outdoor booths, this nine-day gourmet-themed exhibition will offer a wide array of delicacies, wines, home appliances and trendy lifestyle products, promising an exceptional retailtainment experience for food lovers and shopping enthusiasts.

At today’s (17 October) press conference, Dr Wingco Lo, President of the CMA, stated that the CMA has been actively complementing the government’s initiatives to promote mega event economy and continues to infuse the Carnival with new elements. He emphasised his hope to showcase Hong Kong’s unique characteristics through its delicacies, stating, “Through the synergy of ‘exhibition plus food’ and ‘exhibition plus tourism’, coupled with the economic stimulus measures introduced by the Central Government and the recent policy address, I believe that consumption sentiment will improve, contributing to continued success of the Carnival.”

The Carnival will showcase more than 300 booths in five thematic zones: Health Preserving Zone, Leisure Food Zone, Catering Equipment Zone, Chillax Zone and Yummy Food Zone, offering a diverse range of products. Over 100 selected items will be available with hefty discounts, some discounted up to 90% off or priced as low as HK$1.

Beyond hunting for great deals, savouring tempting street food is a must-do for all Carnival visitors. With 50 food stalls, the signature Yummy Food Zone will tantalise your taste buds with a diverse selection of global delicacies. Step into the newly introduced Chillax Zone, adorned with uniquely designed bar installations, and explore a wide array of beers, red and white wines, sparkling wines, cocktail, Japanese sake, and wine-pairing snacks. Don’t miss our daily beer giveaway of 100 cups and join a beer drinking contest named Beer & Play @ Food Carnival, ensuring an unforgettable shopping experience!

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 90th anniversary of the CMA, Mr Ivan Sze, Vice President of the CMA and Chairman of CMA Exhibition Services Limited, has announced an exciting lineup for the Carnival. Alongside the exclusive CMA 90th Anniversary Lucky Bags, the Carnival will feature a series of lucky draws with a total prize value exceeding HK$1 million. The prizes include premium electronic appliances and kitchenware, ginseng dried seafood, health supplements, dining vouchers, and more. During the exhibition, the first 90 attendees every day will receive a gift bag worth HK$160. Mr Sze continued, “To commemorate the recent arrival of a pair of giant pandas gifted to Hong Kong by the Central Government and the birth of locally-born giant panda cubs, the CMA, in collaboration with KamCha, is introducing a limited edition giant panda Hong Kong-style milk tea. A total of 8,000 bottles will be distributed to the public during this exhibition to promote ‘panda economy’.”

As a festive celebration for all, the Carnival will feature nearly 30 stage performances, cooking demonstrations, booth games, and workshops with various themes for both adults and children to enjoy together. One of the highlights will be the grand Halloween party on 31 October, where a host of haunted characters will roam the venue, allowing attendees to take photos and interact with them. This promises to create a spooky-fun atmosphere for everyone to revel in.

The Carnival will be open daily from 11am to 9pm. Admission tickets are $6 each (free admission will be offered to all visitors from 7pm onwards. Children under 1 metre in height, citizens over the age of 65, and persons with disabilities can enjoy free admission throughout the day).
