The 58th Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo Opens Today
Celebrating the CMA’s 90th Anniversary with Citizens
The 58th Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo (HKBPE) officially opened its door today (14 December) at Victoria Park, Causeway Bay. Organised by the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong (the CMA), this highly anticipated annual shopping extravaganza runs until 6 January 2025, promising a rewarding festive experience filled with shopping joy and delightful gifts.
The expo commenced with a magnificent opening ceremony graced by distinguished guests, including Mr Paul Chan, Acting Chief Executive of the HKSAR; Mr Yin Zonghua, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR; Mr Li Yongsheng, Acting Commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the HKSAR; Ms Starry Lee, member of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress and Member of Legislative Council; Mr Erick Tsang, Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs; Mr Algernon Yau, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development; Ms Louise Ho, Commissioner of Customs and Excise, Mr Benson Kwok, Director of Immigration Department; Mr Wong Kwok Hing, Commissioner of Correctional Services; Mr Aaron Liu, Director-General of Trade and Industry, and the office bearers of the CMA.
Dr Wingco Lo, President of the CMA, exphasised that the HKBPE has made substantial contributions to society and the economy, consistently attuning to the pulse of Hong Kong’s economic and industrial development. He stated, “To align with the development of new quality productive forces and the silver economy, we will introduce ‘Silver Consumption Privileges’ and a carbon redemption scheme.” Dr Lo also hopes that the expo will assist in boosting Hong Kong’s mega event economy, providing momentum for market vitality.
This year’s expo features 11 thematic zones, offering a wide range of products including food and beverages, groceries and noodles, ginseng and dried seafood, healthcare products, kitchenware and electric appliances, as well as various international wines, catering to the diverse needs of visitors. Visitors can take advantage of three promotional periods to purchase over 500 selected products at discounts of up to 90% off and HK$1 special deals, allowing them to enjoy a fulfilling festival shopping spree for the New Year.
