CMA to Host a Series of Exhibitions in Second Half of 2025
The 31st Hong Kong International Education and Careers Expo
Returns This Saturday
The Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong (the CMA) will launch a series of exhibitions in the second half of 2025, adopting a comprehensive “exhibition plus tourism plus consumption” strategy to boost local spending.
The CMA exhibition lineup includes the 31st Hong Kong International Education and Careers Expo, the 5th Hong Kong Brands and Products Shopping Festival, the 12th Hong Kong Food Carnival, and the 59th Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo.
At today’s (2 July) press conference, Dr Wingco Lo, President of the CMA, stated, “ While the retail sector continues to navigate challenges, CMA’s exhibitions have consistently maintained their strong appeal and competitiveness through their reputation for offering high-quality products at reasonable prices. With Hong Kong’s tourism numbers showing sustained recovery, we are confident this year’s exhibitions will achieve outstanding results.”
Dr Lo emphasised that by leveraging nearly nine decades of experience in organising major exhibitions, the CMA will continue innovating its event offerings, stimulating economic growth while showcasing Hong Kong’s unique charm to global visitors.
As the academic year draws to a close, the 31st Hong Kong International Education and Careers Expo will be held on 5 and 6 July at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Featuring three thematic zones – Overseas and Mainland China Education Zone, Local Education Zone, and Careers Square – this expo will bring together more than 1,000 colleges, educational institutes and consulting firms from over 20 countries and regions. Attendees can explore a wide range of programmes spanning pre-university, diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and vocational courses, enabling them to develop personalised learning roadmaps aligned with their interests and competencies.
A notable highlight this year is the participation of six consulates in Hong Kong – from France, Germany, Portugal, Belarus, Austria, and South Africa – broadening students’ overseas education opportunities.
At the Careers Square, over 50 organisations and companies will offer over 2,000 job opportunities. Featured employers include Hong Kong’s five disciplinary forces, Hong Kong Labour Department, and leading private-sector companies in the banking and finance sectors, as well as renowned enterprises such as Lee Kum Kee and KMB. Job seekers can access complimentary services, including CV evaluation, professional portrait shooting, and career navigation workshops, to enhance their employability.
Dr Warren Ma, Executive Vice President of the CMA and Vice Chairman of the CMA Exhibition Services, said, “Artificial intelligence (AI) is fundamentally reshaping the workplace, making continuous learning and technological adaptability critical for young people to stay competitive.” In response to this transformation, this year’s expo will introduce AI-focused initiatives featuring free AI-powered mock interviews, enabling job seekers and university applicants to receive comprehensive performance evaluations and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, the expo will host expert-led seminars examining AI’s cross-sector impact and practical strategies for enhancing learning efficiency through AI applications.
During the two-day Expo, college representatives, education counselors and industry leaders will conduct over 40 seminars covering practical topics including JUPAS selection strategies, university articulation pathways in Hong Kong, the Mainland and other popular destinations, utilisation of cross-border data verification platforms for efficient credential recognition, and contingency planning for overseas studies amid global uncertainties. Additionally, special guest Mr On Chan, singer-songwriter, will share valuable insights drawn from critical career decisions and professional turning points in his journey.
The Expo is free to attend and will be open from 11am to 6pm.
