The 5th Hong Kong Brands and Products Shopping Festival Opens Today

The 5th Hong Kong Brands and Products Shopping Festival (the Festival), organised by the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong (the CMA), opened today at the AsiaWorld-Expo. The four-day expo features eight thematic zones with 300 booths showcasing thousands of quality products, along with diverse performances, and entertainment programmes, promising a fun-filled summer experience.

This morning’s opening ceremony was graced by the presence of distinguished officiating guests, including Mr Algernon Yau, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development; Mr Anson Lai, Acting Director-General of Trade and Industry; Mr Simon Li, Chairman of AsiaWorld-Expo; Mr Duncan Chiu, Legislative Council Member and Chairman of Lai Yuen Company Limited, and representatives of supporting organisations.

They were joined by esteemed CMA office-bearers, including President Dr Wingco Lo; Vice President and Chairman of the Exhibition Services Limited Mr Ivan Sze; Permanent Honorary Presidents Dr David Wong and Dr Allen Shi; CMA Legislative Council Representative the Hon Jimmy Ng; Executive Vice President Dr Warren Ma; Vice Presidents Professor Simon Wong, Mr Dennis Ng Kwok On, Mr Calvin Chan, Mr Robert Lok, Mr Albert Chuang, Dr Ellis Wong, and Chief Executive Ms Ida Ng, who collectively officiated the ceremony.

Addressing the audience, President Dr Wingco Lo emphasised the CMA’s dedication to innovation, enhancing the consumer and entertainment experience at its exhibitions to attract residents and tourists. “Amid evolving challenges in global trade and retail transformation,” Dr Lo noted, “the Festival has grown beyond its role as a promotional and sales platform for Hong Kong brands. It now serves as a strategic springboard for the global expansion of Hong Kong and Mainland enterprises. This year’s newly introduced Hometown Flavors Zone and Lai Yuen Playground Zone will promote authentic specialties from 10 Mainland provinces and cities, and nostalgic Hong Kong culture respectively. These initiatives are designed to help brands forging deeper connections with consumers through memorable experiences, and to highlight Hong Kong’s vibrancy.”

This year’s Festival, as always, offers an extensive array of products, including delicacies, wines, dried seafood and tonic foods, household and electronic goods, kitchenware, children’s products, and healthcare products. A vast selection of products will be available at incredibly low prices, with some discounted up to 90% or priced as low as HK$1.

Chairman Mr Ivan Sze stated that delivering a cost-effective and enjoyable shopping experience remains the core mission of CMA’s exhibitions. “In collaboration with our exhibitors, we not only offer value-for-money products, but also introduce special Happy Hour promotions daily from 4pm to 7pm,” he stated, “During these hours, visitors can enjoy limited-time food offerings at half price or lower in Chillax Zone and Yummy Food Zone, enabling them to indulge in shopping and street food without worring about budget.”

Thanks to overwhelming community support, the Festival has reached its 5th anniversary. To celebrate this significant milestone, the CMA has launched “5th Anniversary Crazy Rewards”, offering exclusive gifts for the first 500 daily visitors and a series of lucky draws and games with prizes totalling HK$400,000. The Festival will further delight attendees with an engaging lineup of stage programmes, busking, and parent-child competitive challenge, ensuring entertainment for visitors of all ages.

The Festival is open from 10:30am to 7pm daily (the Festival will close at 5:30pm on 4 August). Admission tickets are $10 each (free admission for children under 1 metre in height, citizens over the age of 65, and persons with disabilities).
