Bahrain Joint Webinar (Co-organized by CMA)
Following its outbound mission to the Kingdom of Bahrain in May, the CMA was pleased to co-organise a webinar on 15 September with the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB) and the Hong Kong Bahrain Business Association (HKBBA). The event aimed to provide CMA members with a direct platform to gain first-hand insights into Bahrain’s economic landscape, explore investment opportunities, and identify potential partnerships across multiple sectors. The webinar attracted over 120 participants.
Dr. Nasser Ali Qaedi, Advisor to the Chief Executive of Bahrain EDB; Mr. Oscar Chow, Chairman of the HKBBA; and Dr. Wingco Lo, President of the CMA, delivered welcome remarks at the event, while Mr. Nicholas Ho, Commissioner for Belt and Road of the HKSAR Government, delivered the opening remarks. Ms. Difei Pei, Senior Executive – Greater China at Bahrain EDB’s International Offices, then presented an overview of Bahrain’s economy, highlighting its key investment advantages and government support measures. A Q&A session, was moderated and facilitated further exchange by Mr. Ivan Tam, Secretary General of the HKBBA, in which representatives from Bahrain EDB addressed participants’ questions.
Dr. Wingco Lo said, “The interaction between Hong Kong and Bahrain is gathering momentum. The Middle East is rapidly emerging as a high-potential market, particularly for manufacturers and traders looking to diversify their supply chains and investments. Bahrain stands out with its strategic location, business-friendly environment, and role as a gateway to the GCC and the wider Middle East and Africa region. Furthermore, Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 aligns closely with Hong Kong’s transformation goals, paving the way for promising collaboration opportunities.”
