The 32nd Hong Kong International Education and Careers Expo Opens
Organised by the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong (the CMA), the 32nd Hong Kong International Education and Careers Expo opened today (4 July) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The two-day expo brings together local, Chinese Mainland, and overseas colleges, educational institutes, and employers. It provides students, parents, and job seekers with a comprehensive, one-stop platform for further education, continuous learning, and career planning.
Three major zones feature global education opportunities and job openings
This year’s expo is divided into three major zones: Overseas and Chinese Mainland Education Zone, Local Education Zone, and Careers Square. Targeting students and professionals of all academic backgrounds, the event gathers over 1,000 colleges, educational institutions and education consulting firms from more than 20 countries and regions. Attendees can explore a wide range of options, spanning from diplomas and short courses to undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional certificate programmes.
In addition, employers from government departments, disciplined forces, major public organisations, and multinational corporations are participating in Careers Square, offering over 1,000 job vacancies, many of which include on-the-spot interviews. Job seekers can engage directly with employers and gain valuable insights into industry trends, skill requirements, and career development opportunities.
The CMA: The expo highlights Hong Kong’s strengths as an international education hub
Today’s opening ceremony was graced by the presence of distinguished officiating guests, including Secretary for Education Dr Christine Choi, Secretary for Labour and Welfare Mr Chris Sun, Director of Immigration Mr Benson Kwok,Commissioner of Correctional Services Mr Wong Kwok Hing, Acting Deputy Commissioner of Customs and Excise (Management and Strategic Development) Ms Wong Wai Chuen, Acting Assistant Director of Fire Services (Corporate Strategy) Mr Cheu Yu Kok, Secretary General of Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority Professor Wei Xiangdong, and representatives from supporting organisations.
They were joined by CMA office-bearers, including President Dr Wingco Lo; Vice President and Chairman of the CMA Exhibition Services Limited Mr Ivan Sze; Permanent Honorary President and Chairman of Education Commission Dr David Wong, Executive Vice President Dr Warren Ma, Vice Presidents Mr Dennis Ng Kwok On, Mr Robert Lok, the Hon Albert Chuang, Dr Ellis Wong, and Chief Executive Officer Ms Ida Ng.
In his welcoming remarks, CMA President Dr Wingco Lo noted that, with the strong support of the Central Government, Hong Kong is actively transforming into an international education hub and a top destination for high-calibre talent. This year’s expo has attracted prestigious educational brands from Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland, and across the globe, along with various consulates in Hong Kong. Their participation underscores the city’s unique advantage in pooling global educational resources and connecting the world.
He continued, “The scope of this year’s expo has evolved in line with global trends, directly addressing the demand for new skills driven by AI and the country’s 15th Five-Year Plan. This empowers young people to embrace digital transformation and gain a competitive edge in their future careers.”
Empowering youth to map career paths through practical skills and industry insights
Mr Ivan Sze, Vice President of the CMA and Chairman of CMA Exhibition Services Limited, noted that the expo features over 25 seminars timed perfectly for graduation and recruitment season. Led by prominent education and industry leaders, these sessions will cover key topics such as public examination insights, study planning, career planning in the AI era, and education and employment in the Greater Bay Area. “I believe the expert insights and practical advice offered will provide clarity for public examination candidates and new graduates, helping them navigate their ideal progression paths,” Mr Sze added.
To sharpen the competitive edge of young people, the expo offers more than just up-to-date education and career information; it also introduces AI-driven tools to provide attendees with JUPAS programme selection guidance, occupational analysis and professional image transformation. Furthermore, complimentary professional portrait shooting and one-on-one CV evaluations are available on-site, giving job seekers a decisive head start on their career journeys.
The CMA presents 2026 CMA & Donors Scholarships at the expo
Demonstrating its long-standing commitment to talent development, the CMA has awarded the annual CMA & Donors Scholarships since 1964 to recognise outstanding secondary and tertiary students and promote academic excellence. This year, the CMA presented over HK$400,000 in scholarships to 246 students from 16 funded universities, self-financing institutions, and secondary schools. The presentation ceremony followed immediately after the expo’s opening ceremony, with Secretary for Education Dr Christine Choi and Secretary for Labour and Welfare Mr Chris Sun attending as officiating guests to present the awards.
The 32nd Hong Kong International Education and Careers Expo is free to attend and will be open from 11am to 6pm.
