Biodiversity and New Energies Symposium (supported by CMA)

Date: 15 Aug 2024 (Thu)
Time: 9:30am - 4:35pm
Venue: Hong Kong Maritime Museum (Hybrid Format)
Fee: Free of charge

Summary:

The world is facing the challenge of climate change, and governments around the globe are committed to reducing carbon emissions and accelerating the energy transition. The development and application of green methanol, hydrogen, and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for sea, land, and air transport have become hot topics. At the same time, as industries actively deepen their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) work, the biodiversity issue closely related to and interacting with climate change has received growing attention and concern. How to incorporate biodiversity protection into corporate risk assessment and business operations has become a significant challenge.

To respond to National Ecology Day on 15 August, the symposium is organized by Towngas and supported by CMA. Experts from different sectors will be invited to deliver speeches and participate in roundtable discussions on the opportunities and challenges of various green transportation energy sources, ESG disclosure and regulatory developments related to nature, as well as how companies can integrate biodiversity considerations into their operations.

Participants can learn about the latest trends and developments in these issues, and reference case studies of corporate practices, to jointly promote the green transformation and move towards a sustainable future.
